Poor thing has no more hair than she did at 6 months

I love this picture! 

For one thing, that's an awful lot of forehead between the three of us. 

And for another thing, that's an awful lot of shoulder showing on our little boy. The very reason I love this picture so much. 

It makes me sad to think of my soft, sweet boys growing up to be big harry men. I hope this picture will help me to remember this soft little body. Jack runs around in these pajamas that are 12 sizes to big and the neck just hangs off that shoulder. I love that shoulder.

Mothers day massage

Mothers day goal.... almost achieved

My goal this past week was to let my kids 

*see me kneeling
* feel joy from looking at my happy smiling face
*remember all flowers, from being around me

That way I would earn my right to the songs they'd be singing at church today. 

I just about did it. It's been a good week. This morning was going good. I kept my smiling face on as they ran from me while trying to get them ready for church. We were ready early enough to go outside and take a couple mothers day pictures..... but then I snapped

 He just couldn't keep the batman figure down and out of the way of his face. We asked, and asked and asked. Then mom snapped, grabbed the batman and chucked it across the lawn. I never think those things through. Did I really think we would get a smile for a picture after that? nope, just tears

 so we gave it back. But he's still mad

The story of my life

Cold food and unfinished business!

I don't know how many times I do this.... put a piece of toast in the toaster, get doing something else and then 20 min later notice my toast has popped up.  If it's not toast it's a 1/2 made bed, a 1/2 cleaned bathroom or a glass of water sitting out I forgot to drink. 

Cousin Shelley told me about the 1 touch rule. Instead of picking up your trousers, putting them on the back of the couch, then later moving them to your room on the edge of the bed and then finally days later getting them into the closet, you just tell yourself the minute you touch something it goes all the way back to where it came from. I try it. I need to start applying it to food now too. Once I put that toast in the toaster I don't leave until it's in my belly.
