SEPTEMBER

Lots of football

Re-test Jack's allergies.
Poor kid is allergic to a ton of things, but all mild.
We are all probably allergic to a bunch of things we don't realize.
Our main concern is the peanuts and tree nuts

With all the back to school Kate needs her back pack too

and likes getting her homework done

Mike went to Ireland

One of the nights he was away he send us cookies. The night was winding down and I was trying to finish up dinner and round up kids and it's not uncommon for me to start to breakdown around that time of night. The doorbell rang and I had just pulled kids inside so I was annoyed thinking it was friends, but to our surprise it was cookies. It literally changed my whole night. They were still warm and sooo good.

Labor Day

Wow look at these guys- They must be headed out for a crazy Labor day weekend. Be careful on that machine will ya.

As for us, we are headed to Idaho to meet up with Mike's brother Steve and his family.
Sharon and I took Kate, Emery and Jack and left Thur night to go 1/2 way and stay in Blackfoot. My throat was sore the day we left. When I woke up Friday morning it was really sore. I was nervous that if it was strep we would be too far away to get anything for it so I went to the instacare in Blackfoot that morning. The doctor was certain by the looks of it that it was strep, but the test came back negative. He gave me an antibiotic anyway and a heavy pain pill. Told me not to take the pain pill if I would be driving. The braindead gal that I am I went back to the hotel and took the pain pill thinking it was the antibiotic. We headed out and an hour into the drive I wondered why I felt like I could fall asleep any moment. Then my brain came alive and I realized what I had done. Sharon took over and drove for a bit and I fell asleep, but was woken by a jolt when she fell asleep at the wheel and overcorrected. Haha, we were quite a pair in that car! We did finally make it safe and sound.  My throat kept getting worse and when I woke up Saturday morning my gums were all swollen and my mouth hurt. I wondered if it was an allergic reaction to the medication so I decided to drive 90 min to the nearest hospital while everyone went fishing

See how pretty it is and how happy everyone is? I'm so glad, cuz at this same time I was just getting back from the doctors.(2:00 pm) My throat was so sore and I could feel a sore on the roof of my mouth and on part of my gums. I pulled into the cabins and saw that the cars were still gone and thought, "this will be nice I can just go in and lay down and watch something or take a nap." However, during all the commotion in getting out the door that morning Mike wasn't thinking and locked the cabin door. WHAT?!? IT"S LOCKED!?! "Ok," I thought, "I remember him saying they figured they would be back around 4:00. I can hang out on the porch for a couple hours."

Well, 2 hrs came and went. (no cell service for him)
When I look at the pictures I'm so happy they were in such a pretty place and having such a great time. I on the other hand was starting to enter a little state of shock. "Really, they're not back yet?" So I went over to the general store to call the owners of the cabins so see if they could let me in. No answer. I started to enter that state of pain where you are listening to a speaker who is suppose to end, but  has gone over the hour and you aren't sure when he's going to stop or how long it's going to last. About 6:00 I got a text from Mike letting me know they were about 30 min out. I just replied, "you locked the door." to which he replied, "Sh@#! you can punch me in the face when we get back." It's funny now, I think I might have been in tears at that point. I hadn't eaten at all that day. I could have gotten food from the general store, but my throat hurt too bad for granola bars and chips, I wanted the dang yogurt just inside the cabin.
HaHa, fun time's I say!

Besides that little hiccup, the trip was so fun. The area was beautiful and it's always nice just to be hanging out with family.

My mouth held out on the trip for the most part, but when we got home I just kept getting more and more sores in my mouth and on my lips (cold sores) and down my throat. I couldn't eat for almost a week. It was pretty miserable. I'm bummed it overlapped with our fun trip.
Thank you Steve and Jen for showing us your fun vacation spot. Next year I won't be that much trouble!
