Nether of them were happy about going, but I think they both had a nice time. Easy in the season Jack was on board with back packing with the deacons. Then the reality of hauling the pack around set in and he changed his mind. He was so mad at us up until we dropped him off at brother Veenker's. He may have been saying, "I hate you" under his breath as we were hugging him goodbye. He's always a bit nervous about the unknown. He did awesome.

Hope of America Award
We got this email from Jacks teacher
"Hello, I wanted to reach out to you and let you know your Jack has been selected as one of our Hope of America Award winners. I select two from my class every year. This award is given to students who show great strength in academics, social skills, and just showing what it means to be a good citizen. I am very proud of how hard Jack works. He is an amazing kid. Mrs Nielsen."
We also got an email letting us know that Jack scored in the top 15% of students in the district on their standardized test. They recommend he take the test for the ALL (advanced learning lab) program. We decided to have Emery take it as well. They both scored great so next year Jack will be in ALL at the Jr High and Emery for the 5th grade.
