Happy Birthday to the dog I never thought we'd have....... or love.

March 1st Mr. Koda turned a year old. It's taken me a year, but I really enjoy this little guy. It's been fun watching him grow and observing his personality.

He really is a good dog. During the day he just roams around and finds a place to lay down. If you're not sitting on the floor for him to curl up next to he'll use the couch or go in Mikes office on the floor next to him or find a blanket or a pile of our clean laundry or pretty much any bundle of our things

He wasn't ever suppose to end up on the bed! oops. He's done so good sleeping in his kennel at night  but now he just sleeps in Jack's bed. In the mornings he started a ritual where I would go get him, take him outside to use the bathroom then when he'd come in he'd head straight downstairs into Ivan's room and then Emery's room to wake them up. If Ivan didn't have to get up he would just get in bed with him and go back to sleep.

Now he's moved on into my room to get back in bed with Kate.
The two of them snooze away all morning.

We think he's a handsome little guy. Well mannered. He does run out the front door sometimes and it's annoying to chase after him. He's getting better at coming back for a treat.

This is after he was neutered

The kids love him

He follows me from room to room during the day. He likes to be close to someone. He's a little nervous. We brought a long skinny bully stick home for him once and he was so scared of it. When we sat it out he wouldn't come near it. He's still a little hesitant with each new bone we bring home.

He likes to lay out in the sunshine, but you have to leave the door open or he'll get up and come whine at the door.

And this is his best friend Winston. They have play dates together. We love it because it wears him out! The other day he got out the front door. Emery went after him. Katie called me and said when she pulled up to her house he was sitting on their front step like he was waiting to ask if Winston could play.
He loves Mike and maybe next year I can write that Mike loves him too.
