Jack my January baby

One decade ago my 2nd baby boy was born.
I remember the day so clear. I went in for my weekly Doc appointment. I had two weeks left until my due date. When Doctor Irion checked me I was dilated to a 4+, I don't remember if I had thinned out much, but I was surprised when he asked me if I wanted to come back at 2:00 to be induced. He said he was worried that if I went into labor I would go fast and being in Lehi, 30 min away,  I would take the chance of not make it. Personally, I think he just wanted me to have it before he left town the next week. I wasn't sure what I thought. I wanted to just have my body go on its own, but gosh, I was all ready for the day, feeling good and not in the distress of labor. I went to my moms and sat on the couch for a while. I remember my dad encouraging me to wait to go into labor on my own, but I decided to just do it. Mike got off work, we went home and got my bag, checked into the hospital at 2:00pm and little Jack Thomas was born at 3:00pm. Only one regret, I wish I wouldn't have had the epidural. I started to feel contractions pretty quick, but wanted to ride it out. By the time I was ready for the epidural I think I was also ready to deliver. I wish they would have suggested I go for it. After the needle went in my back I pushed once or twice and my little guy was here!
Oh goodness he was cute.

We are so happy you were born Jack. We love you so much. You add a sweet side to my life. From day one you have been calm and easy going. You were such a pleasant little guy to have around. You had this deep little voice and fun little cheeks to kiss.

10 yrs late we still love having you and your little sense of humor around. You are so smart in school and a good friend to all the kids. You've started tumbling the last year and are so close to your back handspring. You're so good on the piano and on the soccer field. It's amazing the amount of noise that can come out of your body. You love to be clapping loud,  squealing loud, singing loud or yelping. You don't like it when I get upset and you get extra sweet and helpful when I do. I have some very sweet notes and pictures from you. Luke gave you some colored light bulbs for your bday and Emery wanted one so bad. While she was gone one day you put the lightbulb in her lamp,  made her bed, and left the little remote on her pillow.
Thanks for being my fun 4th grade boy. We love you
