It's time for Mr. Ivan to meet Chicago.
He had heard all about it, twice, and so he had a lot to look forward to.
This time we took the subway from the airport to our hotel instead of a cap.
First night is Chicago style Pizza at Giordano's.
It takes a good 40 min to get your pizza, but this time it seemed even longer. When it finally arrived Ivan sunk his teeth in for a bite and it pulled the cheese off the top and it flopped down on his lower lip. It burned so bad his eye's filled up with tears. We thought he was being a little sensitive, but about a min later the bubbles appeared!
Crazy hot pizza.
Then we like to take a swim
The next morning we enjoyed our 3 donuts from the cool little corner bakery.
Ivan was so fun about making sure we did just what the other kids did on their trips.
We caught our little train, then bus and went to the Field Museum.
So we could see Sue
We also hit the aquarium (and the zoo on the last day) which we didn't actually do on the other trips. We about museumed ourselves out. We were pretty hungry by that point so we took a cab to the Wildberry and then walked to the Maggie Daily Park.
We raced on the slides, played on the swings and played miniature golf.
Then we made our way back to the hotel to meet mike and head out to walk the magnificent mile.
It got pretty rainy and wet so we ducked into this place for dinner.
Gosh, then I can't really remember what we did. I'm pretty sure we just went back to the hotel to swim. Ivan got a cook little penguin from the aquarium he wanted to play with in the pool.
The last morning we said goodbye to our room
and took our first stop at the Willis Tower.
It's fun to look out over the city the last day and see all the places we walked.
Then we had to run back over to the park because I forgot to get a picture of Ivan in front of the silver bean when we were there the first day.
Here's his poor chin by the 3rd day.
Then we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo.
It's one of the oldest zoo's in the country and one of the few with free admission. And we didn't get any pictures at the zoo except this one.
Then with the little bit of time to spare we sit in the lobby of the hotel and play cards.
Then we step outside to catch Mike making his way back to us so we can head home.
Hopefully there will be a Chicago Four some day, where we can all go together
